Mont St Michel

When you mention France, most people think of Paris, but in fact Mont Saint Michel is the most visited tourist attraction in France.  It is a complete medieval walled city, with its great gothic abbey, is built on a small granite outcrop standing in the flats of the estuary of the  river Couesnon, in Mont Saint Michel bay.
